Class Guidelines and Topics Covered – 2013/2014

Guidelines for Classroom

  • Respect all persons and property at all times.

  • Be in your seat and working when the tardy bell rings.  Please be quiet and respectful during the pledges and announcements.

  • Cell phones and electronic devices can be used at teacher discretion.

  • No external media devices can be used without expressed teacher approval.

  • Dress code will be enforced.

  • No food or drinks allowed near Computer Stations.

  • Anyone leaving the classroom must have a pass.

  • The lab is open to students for makeup work most mornings.  Assignments can be found by clicking on the Website link next to my name on the school’s Staff Web page.

  • Teachers may assign detention hours for inappropriate classroom conduct before or after school.

Formative Assessments: 45%, Summative Assessments: 40%, Professionalism/Employability: 15%

 

Goals

  • Students will analyze and assess current and emerging technologies, while designing and creating multimedia projects that address customer needs and resolve a problem.

  • Students implement personal and interpersonal skills to prepare for a rapidly evolving workplace environment. The knowledge and skills acquired and practiced will enable students to successfully perform and interact in a technology-driven society.

  • Students enhance reading, writing, computing, communication, and critical thinking and apply them to the information technology environment.

Make-up Work Policy

It is the student’s responsibility to ask about make-up work. Get clarification from the teacher when needed. Contact your teacher to discuss extenuating circumstances such as serious illness, family emergencies, school functions or urgent matters. For every day missed, students has one class day to make-up missing work.

 

Late Work Policy

Students have 3 class days to turn in late work. Each class day decreases the starting grade by 10 points until starting grade reaches 70.  Work turned in later than three class days after the due date can only earn a maximum of 50 points.
